Dr. Pasqal Haneumann named Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Haneumann joins from two decades in industrial systems engineering, where he was known for a meticulous approach to maintenance and an unusual devotion to the machines in his care.

— Frothly today announced the appointment of Dr. Pasqal Haneumann as Chief Technology Officer. He will be responsible for the institute’s technical infrastructure, including the systems that run the Turing Registry, the Glossia relay network and the Lazarus archive.

Dr. Haneumann joins Frothly after two decades maintaining industrial control systems, most recently as chief engineer for a fleet of long-haul vessels operated by the von Valancius family. He is known in the field for keeping decades-old systems running long after their manufacturers had given up on them.

He succeeds the institute’s interim technology leadership and will be based at Frothly’s San Francisco headquarters.

“Every system deserves to be understood. Most of them, in my experience, also deserve to be thanked. I intend to do both.”
